That's right, American Idol is back! The auditions finished last week, and guest judges included Victoria Beckham, Kristin Chenoweth, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Joe Jonas. This week is the dreaded Hollywood week, which AI says will be the most intense week ever (just like every other year, but whatever), and Ellen will finally be joining the judge's panel! It should be exciting, so watch tonight at 8/9 central.

Okay, now that Paula's off American Idol I bet you're really wondering who will replace her! Or not. But even if you don't give a rat's... uh... butt, I'm going to tell you. Paula Abdul will be replaced this year by Ellen DeGeneres! Even though she doesn't really have music experience, it should be exciting to see the new dynamic she adds to the show. You'll have to wait until after the auditions to see her though, since they have already started taking place. Check back soon for the starting date of the new season!

New Music (And the Best Artist You've Never Heard Of!)

Okay, so since Idol is not going to be on for a while, I thought I'd post some new music on the side. First, Kina Grannis, who you probably haven't heard of. Trust me though, her music is great! Check out her song "People" by clicking on the music player with the guitar.

Second, I FINALLY found a song from Wicked that had the Original Broadway Cast singing. "For Good" is one of the songs in Wicked that shows how close Glinda the Good Witch and The Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) are. I hope you enjoy the new songs!

Wow. I've gotta say, I honestly didn't see that coming. A little while ago, Paula Abdul made threats of not coming back on Idol. I was pretty sure that she was just going for more money, but Fox confirmed yesterday that she would be leaving for sure. Are you surprised? Do you think the show will suffer without her? Why am I asking questions if no one's going to post a comment? Tell me what you think!

K, so anyway, sorry about my total "OMGWICKEDISAWESOME!" thing last week, and now I'm gonna get back to reviewing American Idol! w00t! Anyway.
So, I don't have much to say, because apparently my family prefers watching Biggest Loser, or at least on Hollywood week on AI (and there goes my news -_-). But tonight (Wednesday) is the infamous *gasp* DUETS!!!!! Ah!!!!! Sorry. I'm reeeeaaaaalllly bored, and before I like, spontaniously combust or something (look it up, muhahahahaha!), I'm just gonna shut up.

Okay, sorry for the distraction, but I just wanted to shamlessly promote something to all two people actually reading this blog, the musical I saw this weekend. Wicked!

For those of you not completely in the know (like me...haha) Wicked is the story of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz (and for any of you who don't know about that, well, where have you been for like the past, like, eighty years? Seriously!) Anyway. Wicked shows the explanation of why the "Wicked" witch is so wicked, her relationship with Glinda the Good, the story of scarecrow, tinman, the cowardly lion, and even the Wicked Witch of the East (just in case you would want to see more of her than her feet).

So, if you ever get a chance, go see the amazingness of this show!

Alright you Idol fans, with AI starting sometime in January or February, I thought I'd make a little anouncement. This year, Idol will have not three, but four judges this year! The fourth judge, Kara Dioguardi, has worked with many succesful artists ( http://www.karadioguardi.com/kd/discography_main.htm#). If there is a tie during auditions, Simon will have the deciding vote, but from what I've heard, Kara is just as hard as Simon, but not as insulting. So hopefully, this year really will exceed the others seasons with talent!

For the American Idol finale, it was David vs. David. The votes broke a record by about 20 million votes! Lots of celebrities performed, including the "Pips"(Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and Robert Downey Jr.- Dom't ask...) Anyway the winner was David (LOL). Ok, sorry. The winner was really... DAVID COOK!!!

Ok, so even if you don't like American Idol, you really need to watch next week, cuz its the finale!!! This week the contestants had to sing thre songs. The first song was the judges' choice, the second was their choice, and the third was the prodcers' choice. On the elimination night, we saw all the contestants go to their hometown. Syesha left us, but that means the finalists are the two David's... Cook and Archuletta. Come back next week to see who became the next... "American Idol"

This week was Neil Diamond week on American Idol, and for the first time this season, the contestants had to sing two songs. Neil Diamond and Natasha Bedingfield performed on Wednesday night. The bottom two turned out to be Syesha Mercado and Brooke White. In the end, Brooke went home.

My favorite went off this week :( Anyway, this week was Andrew Lloyd Webber week, and even though Brooke had to start over, and Jason did a HORRIBLE job with his song (Webber even said that he won't listen), the bottom two were Carly Smithson ("Superstar") and Syesha Mercado ("One Rock and Roll Too Many"). With a big surprise to many people, Carly had to leave.

This week, the American Idol mentor was Mariah Carey. On Wednesday night, just like Ryan says like every single freakin time (sorry about that... if I had a soapbox, I would be standing on it now...), somebody had to leave. They did the icky thing where the safe person has to choose which group would be safe. David Archuletta (the safe peson...duh) sat down instead of choosing some one. Anyway, the bottom three were Syesha Mercado, Brooke White, and Kristy Lee Cook. In the end, Kristy Lee had to leave.

This week was "Idol Gives Back", so the contestants had to sing songs that inspired them. On Wenesday, tons of guest stars came on Idol including Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus , Reese Witherspoon, and , of course, Bono. The night ended with all the contestants singing "Shout to the Lord". On the elimination night, the bottom three were Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, and Syesha Mercado, and Michael ended up leaving.

Sorry I'm late to review this week. This week, the theme was Dolly Parton. On Wednesday, Dolly and the winners of Great American Band performed. Dolly sang "Jesus and Gravity" while the band (that I can't remember the name of) performed "This Little Light of Mine". The bottom three contestants were Krisy Lee Cook, Ramielle Mallubye, and Brooke White. In the end, Ramielle went home. Come back next week for your American Idol news!
